Dollar Joe oil field is about 80 sections in size, most of T156-R97 and T155-R97, immediately south of Ray, North Dakota. (The south half of Ray is inside Dollar Joe oil field.)

I could be wrong on this, but it appears, Hess was issued its first permit in the American Oil and Gas (AEZ) acreage it acquired late last year.

I believe it was called the "Goliath Prospect". Either way GO HESS!
ReplyDeleteWow, I had forgotten that. Good for you. Yes, AEZ had Niobrara acreage in Wyoming/Colorado and Bakken acreage in North Dakota, the latter they referred to as their Goliath Prospect. AEZ sold all their Niobrara holdings and became a pure-Bakken play before being bought by Hess.
ReplyDeleteYes, AEZ's ND Bakken prospect was called Goliath, and that's the basis for Hess' new designation "GO." Thank you. That is not on the maps in their presentations so there will probably be only a few of us that know the history. Thanks.

#20308 is in Dollar Joe.
I can't say more about that right now because the NDIC site is down and I can't look at the GIS map server. My hunch is that EOG already controlled that acreage in the Ross oil field but I could be wrong. Johnson 15-22H did not have the "GO" designator.
The NDIC site cannot be reached because of the electricity outage at Bismarck capitol.
