The Elm Tree field should become very, very active some time down the road. It is a very small field, only 30 sections but it sits right between the very prolific Sanish on the east and the very nice Charlson on the west. The field is in the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.

Like most other fields in the Williston Basin, there are no villages, hamlets, or towns in this field. But this field seems even more desolate than most: there are no major highways in the field, and only three county roads. Two of the county roads end at the river's edge.

There are only three wells in this field, two of them producing, and one of them still on the confidential list, but the IP of that well has been reported. They are all long laterals and they all target the Three Forks Sanish. The Charlson wells generally target the TFS, also.

Here are the IPs for the three wells in this small field (all wells are Continental Resources wells -- CLR):

18138, 1,161, CLR, Simmental 1-21H, Elm Tree, t12/09; cum 200K 11/12; a long lateral, western edge of Elm Tree;

18224, 1,990, CLR, Hendrickson 1-36H, Elm Tree, t12/09; cum 348K 11/12;
18137, 472, CLR, Bohmbach 1-35H, Elm Tree, t7/09; cum 199K 11/12; sections 35 - 26, just west of #18,244
18911, 428, CLR, Bohmbach 2-35H, Elm Tree, t7/120; cum 133K 11/12;
